CO-RET90B: Aerogram France "50 YEARS 1st CONCORDE flight at MACH 1, 1969-2019"

On October 1, 1969, the Concorde 001 F-WTSS, in the hands of Jean Pinet, passes Mach 1

At the end of September 1969, the flight test team was ready to face the test of truth, the passage in supersonic. The maximum not to exceed in this flight before stripping the recorded results was Mach 1.05.

On 1 October 1969 at 11H 23mn 30s, the prototype Concorde F-WTSS (Aerospace Flight AS45) passes Mach 1.00 and flies at the supersonic speed of Mach 1.05 for 9 minutes.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Concorde's 1st flight to MACH 1, Historiaphil has designed a series of three personalized stamps issued on the 1st of October 2019, on the occasion of a philatelic exhibition organized at the Council of Europe (Strasbourg, France)

These stamps were used on folds "First Day" carried on board the
1st flight of the A350 Air France AF520 Paris - (Bamako) - Abidjan from October 7th, 2019.
