A series of special cancellations celebrate the royal baptism of Prince George of Cambridge, first child of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

23.10.2013, London: A future king of England and head of the Anglican Church has entered the Christian community. At three months and a day, Prince George of Cambridge was baptized with Jordan water, like Jesus, by the Archbishop of Canterbury, in a small ceremony behind closed doors, in the Royal Chapel of the St. James's Palace.

Only 22 people attended the event: his great-grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, his grandparents Middleton, Prince Charles, accompanied by his wife Camilla, his parents William and Kate, his uncles , Prince Harry and James Middleton, his aunt Pippa, as well as his seven godparents.

Prince George, wearing a replica of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter's lace christening gown in 1841. The ceremony was followed by tea and a photo session at Clarence House, the official residence of Charles and Camilla, with sharing of the cake which made up one of the floors of that of the wedding of William and Kate in April 2011, as tradition dictates. Baptism is the first founding act in the life of a future monarch, even if it remains a private family moment.

It was the first public appearance of the future sovereign since the day after his birth at the exit of the maternity ward. A series of official photos signed by star photographer Jason Bell were released on Thursday afternoon, bringing together four generations of Windsor. (Source: Le Figaro)
