The Patrouille de France celebrates its 60th anniversary (1953-2013)

It was 60 years ago, on May 17, 1953, at the White House Air Show in Algiers (Algeria). To announce the presentation of the 3rd Wing Patrol which flies four F-84Gs, the commentator Mr. Jacques NOETINGER declares "Ladies and gentlemen, the Patrouille de France". This date marks the beginning of the career of what will henceforth be called the Patrouille de France, also called PAF (Patrouille Acrobatique de France).

An aerophilatelic collection gathers the cancellations of the main Air Meetings of 2013 in which the Patrouille de France participates.

From May to October 2013, the Patrouille de France will participate in several Air Meetings and Airshows in France, the Netherlands, Austria and Great Britain, where it will present its program of acrobatic figures, specially designed to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

May 25 and 26, 2013: Air Show for the 60th anniversary of the Patrouille de France (PAF), BA 701 in Salon-de-Provence (France)

In this month of May 2013, the Patrouille de France celebrates its 60th anniversary. The festivities begin at the BA 701 Air Base in Salon-de-Provence (France) with a training day on May 24, then May 25 and 26, two days of Air Meetings. May 25 will be private, while May 26 will be open to the public, with flight demonstrations and static displays. On the occasion of this anniversary, the fine flower of the World Acrobatic Patrols will be present on the Base to celebrate the event: La Patrulla Aguila (Ejército del Aire) - seven CASA C-101), the Red Arrows (Royal Air Force - nine BAe Hawk T.Mk1), Frecce Tricolori (Aeronautica Militare - ten MB-339PAN), Striji (Russian Air Force - four MiG-29), Team Iskra (Poland - seven TS11), Red Daibles (Belgian Air Force - four SIAI SR.260M Marchetti), as well as the Patrouille Suisse (five F-5E Tiger II).
