November 11, 1918: after the signing of the armistice in the forest of Compiegne, Foch returns to Paris where Clemenceau receives at 9:30.

National Assembly: At 16:00, in front of a full house, the President of the Council reads the conditions of armistice. Then it was the salvation of France one and indivisible to Alsace and Lorraine found again.

Article 51 of the Treaty of Versailles of June 28, 1919 formally reinstated Alsace and Lorraine to France by fixing their return to November 11, 1918, a return that crowns the war of restitution led by France and erases the defeat of 1871.
