BELGIUM: Tintin and his friends... in the world of automobiles

04.22.2014: A true icon of Belgian comics, Tintin finds himself this year once again at the forefront of a booklet of 10 adhesive postage stamps. For this show, the famous character of Hergé, having reached the respectable age of 85 on January 10, finds himself in the company of a few friends: La Castafiore, Dupont and Dupond, Snowy, Professor Tournesol, Captain Haddock , Abdallah, Tchang, General Alcazar and Nestor, so many characters met by our young reporter during these famous adventures who have become essential figures of the “Tintin” family. The numerous models of cars which punctuate the albums and which are driven by all these characters also represent one of the riches of Hergé's stories.

For the "Tintinophiles", we have therefore chosen to combine these two themes to illustrate a new collection of 10 philatelic envelopes, published in a limited edition of only 50 numbered copies, which bear the postmarks “Prévente 04.19.2014” from Saint-Mard and “ First Day 22.04.2014” from Brussels.
