PROXIMA - a 196-day scientific, technical and educational mission carried out by French astronaut Thomas Pesquet 17.11.2016 (18.11.16 - 3:20 a.m. Baikonur, Kazakhstan) 02-06-2017
ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet arrived aboard the ISS on November 20, 2016, accompanied by Russian Soyuz Commander Oleg Novitskiy and American astronaut Peggy Whitson. As part of the Proxima mission, the Frenchman carried out numerous scientific experiments (62 were on the program and he participated in 55 others carried out by other members of the crew) and also carried out educational activities. After a stay of 196 days, a record for a French astronaut, Thomas Pesquet returned to Earth on June 2, 2017.
