Inauguration of the Charles de Gaulle Memorial

Welcomed by the President of the French Republic, Mrs. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, came to inaugurate with Nicolas Sarkozy the new Charles de Gaulle Memorial dedicated to the life and work of the man. Commissioned by the Charles de Gaulle Foundation and the General Council of Haute-Marne, this 4000m2 memorial is intended for all audiences and aims to embody a real meeting with a number of major events of the 21st century. The first temporary exhibition, 'De Gaulle-Adenauer, a Franco-German story', places the Memorial at the heart of European news.
