Air France's 747 Farewell Flights
01/14/2016 More than 45 years after the first flight between Paris and New York-JFK on June 3, 1970, operated by its Jumbo Jet, Air France organized two farewell flights on Thursday for its last Boeing 747-400s, definitively putting an end to the legendary aircraft it introduced into service 45 years ago.
Special flights AF744 and AF747 carried the last passengers of Air France's Jumbo Jet on January 14, 2016, for a final "TOUR DE FRANCE." The two B747s flew over Burgundy, the Alps, Provence, Aquitaine, Brittany, and Normandy, with a business lunch and champagne for all, before returning to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, where customers were invited to visit the airline's aircraft maintenance workshops and share a nightcap at the foot of the aircraft.
Numbered First Flight Covers were produced during these flights.
