Les porte-avions 'Charles de Gaulle' et 'USS Th. Roosevelt' aux cérémonies du «D-Day»
Assurant la sécurité des cérémonies du 60e anniversaire du Débarquement en Normandie, les porte-avions «Charles de Gaulle» et «USS Th. Roosevelt» ont mouillé le 6 juin devant Arromanches, au large des plages du débarquement. Le «de Gaulle» a ensuite rejoint Portsmouth pour une escale du 7 au 10 juin marquant le centenaire de l'Entente cordiale. Le 9 juin, Michèle Alliot-Marie, ministre de la Défense, a reçu à bord son homologue britannique Geoff Hoon.
Le porte-avions a ensuite effectué une escale technique à Brest, avant de rejoindre le port du Havre pour une escale officielle du 14 au 17 juin.
