On August 9, 1945, this aircraft, piloted by Major Charles W. Sweeney, dropped the second atomic bomb, code-named "Fat Man," on the city of Nagasaki, Japan, causing extensive destruction and the eventual surrender of the Empire of Japan.
27.5 x 20 cm bistre offset etching.
This relatively modern etching bears a facsimile of the signature of Second Co-pilot Fred J. Olivi. Excellent condition.
