27 May 2014: First flight of an Air France Airbus A380 to Hong Kong to celebrate 50 years of Franco-Chinese friendship
As part of the 50th anniversary of the recognition of the People's Republic of China by France, an A380 in the colors of Franco-Chinese friendship has been traveling the Air France long-haul network since the beginning of May and until at the end of 2014. The Airbus A380, registered F-HJPE, is decorated with the "Pan Chang" knot, an endless knot which highlights the bond between individuals and brings good luck to the person wearing it as well as to the person looking at it.
On May 6, it landed for the first time in Shanghai (China) and from May 27, 2014, it will serve Hong Kong (China) daily.
"The celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China invites us to further advance the friendship and exchanges between our two countries. In the future, as in the past, Air France lines will be the living links of this fruitful relationship" declared Frédéric Gagey, Chairman and CEO of Air France.
A collection of personalized postage stamps and aerophilatelic covers in limited editions, bearing the special stamps of the inaugural outward and return, was specially made.
