March 30, 2014: Resumption of commercial flights between Seoul (South Korea) and Paris (France)

KOREAN AIR is celebrating its 40 years of presence on the French market by positioning an Airbus A380.

To mark its 40 years of presence on the French market, Korean Air has positioned an Airbus A380 on the Paris-Seoul route throughout the summer season from March 30, 2014 until the end of October . “Paris will be the only European city where we will fly with this aircraft,” said Ludovic Froidure, general manager for France.

The A380 could accommodate 407 passengers, allowing Korean Air to offer 10% additional capacity for summer 2014. Enough to gain market share and attract French travelers, an increasing number of whom are traveling to Korea, with growth by 18% and 44,000 passengers in 2013 for all companies combined.

From March 30, 2014, 5 flights were operated each week between Paris and Seoul in the A380:

- Flight KE902 took off from Paris at 9 p.m. to land in Seoul the next day at 2:50 p.m.

-Flight KE901 took off from Seoul at 1:05 p.m. to land in Paris the same day at 6:20 p.m.

Korean Air had already carried out a few commercial A380 flights in 2011 and 2012 between the two cities: but the connection only lasted a few weeks.

A collection of personalized postage stamps and limited edition aerophilatelic covers, bearing the special stamps of the first outward and return flights, was created especially for this “A380 Seoul - Paris return flight” from Korean Air.
