Overprints "de Gaulle - Concorde 001 / Brezhnev - Tupolev TU-144L" on demonetized stamps from the former USSR

To mark the resumption of testing, in collaboration with NASA, of the Russian supersonic TUPOLEV-144L, a philatelic society in Moscow printed in 1996, interesting local overprints on demonetized stamps from the Soviet era. Various stamps are available in booklets of 20, numbered.

There are three types of overprints per booklet strip, arranged differently depending on their position on the original sheet of 100 stamps:

1) 28th anniversary of the first test flight of the Tupolev Tu-144 - December 31, 1968-1996 - Leonid Brezhnev, General Secretary of the Communist Party (portrait of Brezhnev, Tupolev Tu-144, and St. Basil's Cathedral, Red Square, Moscow), the first supersonic civil aircraft

2) European Supersonic Civil Aviation and Franco-Russian Friendship - 1996 (portraits of General de Gaulle and Brezhnev, Concorde, and Tupolev Tu-144)

3) 27th anniversary of the first test flight of the Concorde Concorde 001, a Franco-British supersonic civil aircraft - March 2, 1969-1996 - General de Gaulle, President of France" (portrait of General de Gaulle, Eiffel Tower and Concorde)
