02.09.2013: the Air France A380 flies to SHANGHAI (China)

Since September 2, 2013, Air France has offered its customers three weekly flights from Paris Roissy-CDG to Shanghai-Pudong by Airbus A380. Air France thus becomes the first European airline to serve Shanghai, the economic center of China, with a wide-body A380. “The arrival of our largest aircraft in Shanghai demonstrates Air France’s desire to continue its development in China, a strategic region in full expansion. With the A380, our customers benefit from optimal comfort in all travel cabins, as well as numerous attentions specially adapted to Chinese culture,” said Frédéric. AF 111: Departure from Shanghai-Pudong at 11:20 p.m., arrival at Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 5:35 a.m. the next day.

A collection of personalized postage stamps and limited edition aerophilatelic covers, bearing the special stamps of the inaugural outward and return flights, was created especially for this first Paris - Shanghai flight.
