Operation SERVAL, Mali 2013 - the Bamako air detachment (DETAIR)
Since the opening of the Malian theater, the air component has played a crucial role with the air support provided by the 2000 D and F1 mirages during ground operations conducted by French troops alongside the Malian forces. Alongside the pilots, the mechanics work day and night to ensure that all aircraft can fulfill their missions.
Currently, at the air detachment of Bamako (DETAIR), 6 mirages 2000 D are aligned, armed and ready to take off. To carry out the programmed or triggered missions on alert, the 10 crews and the 80 mechanics (DETCHASSE) are at work 24h / 24. source www.defense.gouv.fr
